Here I am in the ALS No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament, March 30, 2008 held in Waltham, MA.
ALS 2008 Charity Tournament
The tournament was sponsored by Syrinx Consulting Corporation, run by Boston Charity Poker, and raised over $25,000. [More about the charity Texas Hold’em tournament. ]
After the tournament, I was interviewed for a local media website (boston.tv) that was capturing video of the event.
I had busted out of the tournament, and the interviewer was asking why I was walking out with such a big smile. I said, “Well, I got to play. I lasted a long time. I contributed to a charity. I’m ecstatic!”
2008 World Series of Poker Tournament 3rd place finalist Dennis Phillips got it right…You gotta love this game!
Stats: Placed 47 in field of 120. Top 39%.
Notes: Didn’t get very good cards. Met some nice people. Felt like a goof ball, but, I did it.
