WSOP Freeroll 4X Shootout

May 10th, 2009 by PokaPaloma

Yesterday I played a WSOP No Limit Hold’em Freeroll Super Satellite shootout at PokerStars.  Top 10 advanced to another tournament where the winner would receive the WSOP tournament package.

Total entrants: 9723 players

My place: 372

Good news: Top 4%

Bad News: Donkey Test’s crowning of me as Average – able to go deep but not cash holds true (for now :-) )

First Round
I won the first table in 19 minutes, then waited 2 hours while the remaining tables played.

Second Round
Ten players, one sitting out the entire time. One very aggressive player (bikersue). Once she had accumulated ~5K in chips, she was in nearly every hand. Calling and raising with good hands and garbage. I figured she and I would be heads up for the table.

Final Hand
Blinds: 50/100; 4 players left; three playing, one sitting out.

I had 3820.  Bikersue had 9410 .

Under the gun, I raise to 600 with Ah Td.  SB folds, BB – bikersue calls.
FLOP  3s Tc Qh

bikersue: bets 500
PokaPaloma: raises 2710 to 3210 and is all-in

TURN  6d

RIVER  Jh

BOARD 3s Tc Qh 6d Jh

bikersue: shows Th Qd (two pair, Queens and Tens), and I’m busted.

The way things were going, it didn’t matter what bikersue had in her hand. She was calling and/or raising with everything. So, I had to pick good hole cards and jump in.  A 10 was one of the best hands I had had that round.
