No limit hold’em poker book reviews

Mr. Murphy says,

“Deal Me In, a collection of autobiographical accounts from many of poker’s elite, is now available to order online exclusively at www.pokerbrat.com. The book highlights the struggles, obstacles, and tragedies that 20 of the greatest poker pros have overcome in their journeys to the top.”

Mr. Murphy continues the article with the excerpt from Daniel Negreanu’s story.  I enjoyed that. Clicked over to this other CardPlayer article by Mr. Murphy from May 2009, Hellmuth’s New Poker Book Profiles the Game’s Greats. Mr. Murphy quotes Hellmuth as saying,

“Each player gives you a behind-the-scenes look into their early years as scrappy, amateur players and how they broke into the big-time professional ranks,” said Hellmuth. “The pros cover their humble beginnings, the obstacles they overcame, the demons they faces, and ultimately the success they enjoyed.”

I looked at the names of the poker pros who were included in the book, then hopped over to the Poker Brat’s store and purchased a copy.

Continuing on the theme of recognizing and hiding poker tells and using body language to read your opponents, the next book review will be What Every Body is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent’s Guide to Speed-Reading People by Joe Navarro.

The last book I reviewed was Randy Burgess’ Ultimate Guide to Poker Tells. Mr. Burgess’ book was helpful and I enjoyed it. This book by Joe Navarro I enjoyed even more as it contained more of the information that I was looking for, as well as more photos that depicted slight changes in body language.

Continuing on the theme of deciphering and hiding poker tells, the next book review will be Caro’s Book of Poker Tells by Mike Caro.
