2014 WSOP Main Event Final Table starts Today

Monday, November 10th, 2014

Today, Monday, November 10, 2014, at 4:30 PST (7:30 EST), the 2014 November Nine will take their seats and start playing for the most coveted prize of all poker players; the WSOP Main Event Bracelet. Most players in contention say that the money is great, but, it is the bracelet that they want most.

The action will be broadcast on ESPN2 tonight on a 1/2 hour delay. The November Nine will play down to the final two. The final two will return tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 to play for the championship, the bracelet, and the guaranteed $10 million dollar first-place prize.  Tuesday’s action will be broadcast on a 1/2 delay on ESPN starting at 6:00 PST (9:00 EST).

What is really amazing is one November Niner, Mark Newhouse, made last year’s final table as well, so Newhouse made the WSOP ME final table in back-to-back years. That was last accomplished by Dan Harrington in 2003 and 2004 (and significantly smaller fields). This is a really interesting piece about the Odds associated with Newhouse’s achievement and the odds of him taking it down.

“The odds of finishing in the top nine last year and first place this year are 1 in 4,716,713”

Among the November Nine, there is a professional foosball player, Billy Pappas (short for Pappaconstantinou), a native of Lowell, Massachusetts.

The youngest player in this year’s event is 22 years old; Spanish Poker Pro, Andoni Larrabe

For the first time ever, there is a player representing Brazil. His name is Bruno Foster, and according to the tweets, he has quite a fan base in the audience. Saw this photo of a fan on Twitter.

Brazilian Fan at WSOP

According to tweets, the Penn & Teller Theatre is rocking with excitement and louder than ever before as the fans of the foosball player and the Brazilian player try to out-cheer each other! Gotta catch the live updates…
