Yeah it was a long game and not much excitement compared to the previous plays made by Heinz. It was as if both players were hesitant. Still, I quite expected Heinz to come out the winner when it came down to the last 2.

Hey Mark -

I'm going with Ben Lamb, mostly because I watched him play the 50K Champions tournament this July, and was very impressed - and if he gets some decent cards - I think he can take it.

Pius was hot the other night... Lots of times that doesn't translate to another night. Plus, I think that each one will arrive with a different play strategy tonight.

Either way, I think that Pius, Martin, AND Ben each want it - really bad - so I'm looking forward to a great competition.

Now it all comes down to the final players. The last day of the WSOP 2011 Main Event. I'm very excited. Looks like Heinz is in a very good position as chip leader and trending shows he's the favorite. Who are your bets to win it this year people?

I would have loved if one of the players in this even was from Europe. Would have made a more exciting match as Europe vs US. Still it was a great match up. Brilliant play by Tristan Wade to overcome the 600K deficit and defeat Michael Watson.

Always very sad to see someone go at such an early age. What is even harder is suffering from cancer and knowing you might not live long enough to go past 30. I sometimes wonder if that is better or worse than getting hit by a truck. LIfe is really too short. Live each day to the fullest. No time to be hating or whining, just enjoy and be happy. I always tell myself that.

Thanks Lucy for your comments.

It's okay that you disagree with my thoughts and numbers. That's what I love about this country. We can have different opinions and express them openly.

Best of luck with your poker playing!

Your numbers regarding a charity poker tournament could not be further from the truth.. before you post your "knowledge", please do some research.... You are only making yourself look extremely ignorant...

First of all, from experience as I play charities throughout MA all of the time with different organizations, I know for a fact that your numbers are off... also, where does the the fact that 75% of the buyin goes to the player's payout pan out in your numbers you crafted???

I do not understand how you can put so much time into finding negatives about a pub poker tour in which you seem to still play... why don't you move on with your miserable self and find a new hobby.

You really expected Eastern Poker Tour to go there and hand out donuts and apologies? They called my cell phone which is ON file, so obviously your information was not correct or illegible on the form you filled out.

Before you speak, think about the words you are going to say... as I think you have deemed yourself to be more of an idiot. EPT is a great company that gives a lot back to the players and I will continue to enjoy their events.

Geirge, or whatever your real name is.
What number are you calling? All our numbers are very much in service and we even give out cell phone information of every local manager if you happen to have any immediate needs. All that information can easily be found on: http://www.easternpokertour.com/_p/contact/default/
As for the website rankings. We have used this ranking system for 5 years and I have never once found an issue with the point’s accumulation. Your javascript errors might mean you need to update your JavaScript on your computer… our web administrator is very thorough and we are always checking the site for glitches and all our rankings work great on all web browsers.
As for chasing your money and/or jackets. I am not sure where this could have been? All our managers pay players their prizes right away so unless there was some extraneous circumstance you should have been paid that night. There could have been an issue with the jacket… we did run out of some sizes and the turn around is 30+ days on each order as they are made-to-order. Your manager should have been more helpful, and if you contact me personally I would be happy to talk to him on that.

Hi [PokaPaloma] and Geirge,

I understand your gripes as we were also floored by the phone call from the Pemroke Country Club at 10:30 AM telling us "I just can't have the event, it is a PR nightmare for us... the chief does not want the event to happen and I have to do business in this town" This was (even though we supplied him with more than enough legal proof of the legalities of our events) and the remaining 2 hours was spent calling the police station non-stop with our attorney also calling to no answer. Then 12 PM we decided it was disaster time.

First we called the hotel we recommended to everyone to make sure they would honor refunds to tall the players. They were not happy as it was a loss in 40+ rooms but because of the circumstance they helped us out and made sure to refund everyone.

Then with the help of Gretel and 6 other managers and employees we went on personally calling every single player of the 1,400 list of players that qualified in day 1a and day1b. Players who did not give us their phone information were emailed... as you received... Players who did not give us either would have to rely on word of mouth or our facebook posts. For me to personally call and email everyone would have take 3 days... as you can see that wouldn't make sense now would it??

I can see the phone call now:
"Hey guys.. ya know that championship yesterday... it was cancelled, sorry I didn't get around to calling you sooner... but I wanted to personally call everyone"

All in all, it was a terrible situation the town put us in. A situation we had not had to suffer once in 13 championships. I was more than happy to see that 90% of our customers understood as bad as it stinks to have to wait on the championship, nobody was put into a more terrible predicament than EPT. I was even more pleased to find out only 30 of the 1400 players that were expected to play in the event missed our notice.

Now to the next season notice... it obviously is necessary to continue tournaments despite the horrendous circumstance we were put in. We must move on and continue with next season. All our venues rely on us to continue to host events; all our employees, sub-contractors, and franchisees count on EPT events to pay their bills, and the players enjoy playing them... why would we just pack up and stop hosting events because the Championship had to be post-poned???

In conclusion, despite it all, the championship will go on and will be announce once we have the town's permit in hand. Players that truly know us and the circumstance, know that nobody wanted the event to go on more than us.

Lets all move on and get excited for the fact that EPT is the only company in the U.S. that gives its pub poker players a shot at a $30K payout on TV TWICE A YEAR.
