- Long-time poker pro and champion of the inaugural $1M One Drop tournament, Antonio Esfandiari ran deep in the One Drop High Rollers NL Hold’Em tournament this week, finishing 4th and winning over $1.4M. Esfandiari continues his support of One Drop, pledging 1% of his total 2013 WSOP winnings to the organization.
- Maria Ho representing! Maria Ho has had the deepest run of all females this year (so far). She finished 5th in the $2.5K 6-handed NL Hold’Em tournament this week. It was Maria’s 5th cash this season and 22nd WSOP cash overall. She is still seeking a WSOP bracelet. (Linda Johnson also had a deep run, finishing 9th in a 7 Card Stud Hi-Low tournament.)
- Phil Hellmuth focused on gaining publicity this week by not showing up for the One Drop High Rollers event, then tweeting/talking about how much he regretted that decision.
Live Streaming Update: Check ESPN3 daily for the time that final tables will stream. A guestimate is posted, like 5:30 PM, then is adjusted as the tournament progresses.
Current Week:
The $1oK Ladies Championship tournament is down to 9 and will finish up this evening (Sunday 6-30-2013). Turns out that no one paid $10K to enter, so, all 954 runners were females (who were given a 90% discount when entering the event). Champion will walk away with nearly $174K.
This is the final week of the 2013 WSOP. Ten tournaments will start, seven of which are NO Limit Hold’em tournaments.
This week features a $1,111 One Drop Low Roller tournament, the $50K Poker Players Championship (a couple of pics from the 2011 Poker Players Championship tournament), and the $10K Main Event which begins at the end of the week.
